General Terms and Conditions
All our services are subject to the Uniform Conditions of the Hotel and Catering Industry (UVH). Different cancellation policies often apply to group bookings. The hotel will contact you about this if this is the case.
Booking and cancellation conditions
1.1 By registering for a yoga retreat and paying the participation fee, the participant agrees to the terms and conditions.
1.2 The deposit must be paid to Het Lichthuis within 7 days after registration. The remaining amount must be paid no later than 4 weeks before the start of the retreat. For bookings less than 4 weeks before the start of the retreat, the amount must be paid in full immediately. In the event of late payment, Het Lichthuis has the right to cancel the reservation.
1.3 The registration is only final after payment of the down payment or, in case of registration less than 4 weeks before the start, of the full participation costs.
1.4 Participation in the program is voluntary. Participants are free to waive the program to be followed. However, this does not entitle you to a refund of the participation fee or to a replacement lesson or activity.
1.5 When you book a shared room, you may share the room with someone of the opposite sex. If this is a problem, please contact us and we will look at the possibilities.
1.6 If participants decide to cancel, they are entitled to a refund of at most part of the participation costs due:
Up to three months before the start of the program: refund of 50% of participation costs.
Up to two months before the start of the program: refund of 25% of the participation costs.
Up to 1 month before the start of the program: no refund possible.
1.7 If the participant is unable to attend the retreat booked by him or her, substitution is permitted, provided that the details of the replacement participant have been passed on to Het Lichthuis no later than 1 day before the start of the retreat.
1.8 Het Lichthuis has the right to cancel a retreat if there are valid reasons for doing so, including insufficient participants, illness of the teacher or force majeure. In case of cancellation by Het Lichthuis, the participant is entitled to a refund of the participation fee already paid. The participant is not entitled to any other compensation or damages.
1.9 Het Lichthuis has the right to exclude persons from participation in a program without stating reasons.
2. Liability
2.1 Het Lichthuis will do its utmost to ensure that the retreats run smoothly and in an orderly manner and to provide correct information.
2.2 Participation in a retreat is entirely at your own risk. Het Lichthuis is not liable for injury and/or damage of any kind as a result of the participant's stay and/or activities, nor for loss of or damage to property.
2.3 Complaints must be made known to Het Lichthuis in writing and with reasons. The complainant will receive a response within 14 days.
3. Medical Disclaimers
3.1 The yoga activities offered by Het Lichthuis are intended as leisure activities and not as a replacement for medically necessary treatments or therapy. Always discuss physical and/or psychological complaints with a qualified doctor.
3.2 Physical complaints must always be reported to the teacher prior to a yoga class. The teacher may be able to adjust the lesson accordingly or give personalized exercises.
3.3 Do not force anything and take physical complaints seriously.
3.4 You hereby waive any claims against Het Lichthuis for any injury and/or damage you may incur during a retreat.
4. House Rules
4.1 The locations are non-smoking. Drug use and excessive alcohol consumption are not allowed during a retreat.
4.2 Het Lichthuis is respectful towards all participants and expects that the participants are also respectful towards each other.
4.3 Het Lichthuis has carefully chosen its locations to offer participants a safe and liveable environment during a retreat. Treat the location and its surroundings with care, as you would your own home. Any damage will be charged to the perpetrator.
4.4 In the event of misconduct (drug and excessive alcohol use, aggressive behaviour, sexual harassment, vandalism or theft) and failure to comply with the instructions of the staff of the location or Het Lichthuis, you will be excluded from further participation in the programme. This does not entitle the participant to a refund of participation costs.
5. Insurance
5.1 Health, accident and travel insurance are mandatory. Taking out cancellation insurance is recommended, especially for foreign activities.
5.2 All costs resulting from non-compliance with this obligation will be fully borne by the participant.
